Tent Meeting opens November 14 and runs through December 13, with performances Fridays at 8pm, Saturdays at 8pm and Sundays at 2pm. Convinced that the poor misshapen creature to which his daughter has given birth is the Messiah, the Reverend Ed Tarbox, with his browbeaten daughter and son in tow, heads off in their mobile home toward the Promised Land--Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. The Reverend Ed is a bullying, southern preacher; son Darrell is a World War II deserter who claims that the scar from his hernia operation really came from a Nazi bayonet; while his loving, but simple daughter, Becky Ann, stuffs cotton in her ears to hear celestial music playing inside her head. Their journey culminates in a blasphemous yet outrageously funny epiphany.

Tent Meeting features: Gary Ballard, Amanda Deibert, and Travis Hammer. The production is directed by Rebecca Wackler, one of the authors of Tent Meeting.

A: We give Tent Meeting a PG-13. It's well-suited for teens and up. Those who cannot find humor in faith or laugh at religious hypocracy may well find Tent Meeting offensive. Those who can find humor in such places may well find it terribly funny.
